The new suspension and steering mean the Mustang’s handling no longer resembles a hog’s trajectory through a mud hole. A new clutch system has lightened the clutch considerably; it’s easier to meet the higher engagement point. Cosmetically, there have been significant improvements to the interior. And did we mention the extra horsepower?
While its name might suggest the rather low-tech approach of the past, the fact is this new SHO is far more than a dull Taurus sedan morphed into a straight-line bruiser. Sure, its 365 horsepower twin-turbo V-6 gives it plenty of street cred, but in practice this is a car that isn't best enjoyed when pushed at ten-tenths or savagely hustled on the edge of control.
The rounded edges and clean, well-developed look of the Edge get it noticed in a crowded segment. The dashboard is simple and easy-to-read, if a little uninspired. With its heavy low-end torque, the Edge does well in stop-and-go city traffic.

With only one interior and exterior measurement varying between the Focus Coupe and Sedan - the sedan has 1.6 inches more rear hip room - buyers won’t sacrifice space or comfort buying the body type they prefer. The low base price and three trim styles mean there’s something for everyone’s budget.
Raw, supercharged power is the GT500’s mission statement, and it certainly delivers. The unobtrusive traction control lets you have your cake and eat it too. Throwback styling gives the car both a sense of aggression and nostalgia.
A 3.5-liter DOHC V-6 engine powers all trims of the Taurus and pulls the sedan along with 263 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels or all four wheels if you choose to add AWD as an option.
While the Taurus X is no athlete, it’s got more than enough power to move itself down the road, and will only feel sluggish if you’ve filled all seven seats with passengers, in which case you’ll have to use all six forward gears to your advantage.

The Flex’s cavernous, well-finished and upscale interior is fantastic. With three rows of seating that include a pass-through second row with an auto-fold function and comfy rear seats swaddled in optional supple leather, this crossover can handle any long journey thrown its way.
You’re never going to have the drive of your life in a mid-size, non-premium family sedan (and if you do, you need to get out more). That said, the Fusion gets you pretty close to an entertaining drive. Power delivery is linear and the steering, while not razor sharp, is predictable and decently communicative. The stability control system likes to bombard you will all kinds corrective braking just as you start to have fun, so you quickly learn that hustling a Fusion is an exercise in patience, and keeping momentum on your side becomes priority numero uno.
November 18, 2009 By Brian Alexander, Content Editor 2010 Ford Fusion DriverSide Overview The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid wants you to plant a tree. In its dash. What? You read that right, a tree in the dash of a car. Not a real tree, mind you, but a digital one that sprouts leaves depending on the economical nature (get it?) of your driving habits. Drive aggressiv...
While the GT has received the Bullitt’s stiffer suspension, it does a superb job of soaking up bumps while still managing to keep the car flat through corners. Road noise is surprisingly absent from the GT’s cabin, but the engine note won’t be missed thanks to a deviously clever tube that pumps V-8 induction noise directly into the cabin, taunting you to keep your foot in the throttle at all times. The steering remains a bit rubbery and slightly inaccurate on turn in, though it’s not a deal-breaker by any means.

For the Taurus’ resurrection, Ford walked straight to the trashcan and ditched all that. The 2010 Ford Taurus rocks an incredibly stylish exterior. Up front, narrowed headlights, a defined hood and a bold grille make for a sedan that exudes purpose. Large, stylish wheels define the car’s sides along with a well-placed fold to break up the sheet metal down both doors. The high waistline and far-reaching rear rake also lend the car a deceptively low-slung look.
Interior quality has risen leaps and bounds over the previous generation Taurus. Where hard plastics and dull styling cues once lingered you will now find soft-touch materials, plush leather, ice-blue backlighting and one of the industry’s top tech packages. At 20.1 cubic feet, the trunk is utterly cavernous.

We were recently given a chance to get up close and personal with ‘Tin Lizzie’ during a visit to the Ford Model T Centennial Celebration in Richmond, Indiana, cleverly titled the Model T Party. As attendees of what will go down as the largest Model T collection we’re likely to see in our lifetime, we were given the opportunity to learn to drive ‘the car that started it all’ by many an enthusiastic owner.
