The G8 GT is powered by a 6.0-liter V-8 sequential fuel injection engine, which produces 361 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. The lack of a manual gearbox, an option that is provided on almost all of the competition, will disappoint the most avid driving enthusiasts.

The LS3 engine – which made its debut in the 2008 Corvette – is a force to be reckoned with, or in the case of the G8 GXP, enjoyed thoroughly. Sports seats provide plenty of lateral support but don’t leave you sore and bruised after long rides. A roomy interior makes hauling people and cargo an easy task. Tons of standard features and a tiny options list means buyers will get a lot for their money.

the Solstice Coupe GXP is remarkably easy to drive. Power from the direct-injection engine is smooth and ample and the limited-slip differential ensures all the power makes it to the ground. The front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout makes for a great drive when the road gets twisty, and the sport-tuned suspension on the GXP handles steering-wheel inputs quickly and accurately.

You've got to give the Vibe credit for being peppy. The steering has very little play to it at low speeds and the car accelerates quickly from a stop. The instrument panel is intuitive, and the passenger and rear seats fold down flat, giving you 49 cubic feet of interior space.
